Solar power generation is a method that utilizes the "photoelectric effect," where electricity is generated when light is applied to semiconductors. Solar modules have a structure that layers two types of semiconductors, N-type and P-type. When sunlight hits them, negative electrons gather in the N-type semiconductor and positive electrons gather in the P-type semiconductor, allowing electricity generation by utilizing this flow of electrons. No carbon dioxide or other emissions are produced during power generation.
