About the cause of red water (300 households) [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 2]

Since the 1970s, as a measure against red water in buildings constructed after that period, the Ministry of Construction has guided the increased use of PVC-lined pipes over white gas pipes (galvanized steel pipes). Furthermore, from the 1980s to the present day (2002), many buildings, apartments, and general residences have experienced occurrences of red water every morning. As a result, in various housing complexes, investigations were conducted on the corrosion of the water supply pipes by removing them. The findings revealed that most of the corrosion inside the pipes was caused by the potential difference between dissimilar metals at the valves and pipe joints, as well as damage to the PVC lining seals. It was determined that the dissolved oxygen in the water reacts electrochemically with the metals through the water.
