By blending sulfonated polyether sulfone (S-PES) with the polymer, the fouling resistance of water treatment membranes is improved.
A membrane was fabricated by blending sulfonated polyether sulfone (S-PES) with polyether sulfone (PES), and its performance as a water treatment membrane was evaluated. To confirm the effect of sulfonation on membrane hydrophilicity, model foulants (alginate, humic acid, bovine serum albumin) were supplied to a hollow fiber membrane module. As a result, the S-PES/PES blend membrane showed a smaller reduction rate in water permeability compared to the PES membrane, making it less prone to fouling. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
