[Research] Evaluation of the Structure and Surface Properties of Niobium Hydroxide and Niobium Carbide
BELSORP
Introduction to the evaluation of the structure and surface properties of niobium hydroxide and niobium carbide using particle size distribution, mercury intrusion method, and streaming potential method!
This document introduces the evaluation of the structure and surface characteristics of niobium hydroxide and niobium carbide (reference catalysts) using particle size distribution (laser diffraction and scattering method), mercury intrusion method, and streaming potential method. Niobium hydroxide, which is expected to be utilized in optical lenses, electronic materials, catalysts, etc.; nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm measurements for niobium hydroxide (reference catalyst JRC-NBO-4) and niobium carbide (reference catalyst JRC-NBO-5-C) confirmed the presence of interparticle voids in primary particles larger than 100 nm. Therefore, we conducted evaluations of the voids in primary particle size, aggregates, as well as the results of true density measurements combined with porosity, and surface characteristic evaluations in isoelectric point measurements using the particle size distribution (laser diffraction and scattering method) and mercury intrusion method.
