[Data] Evaluation of the desorption gas spectrum was conducted using TCD or a quadrupole mass spectrometer!
This document introduces the evaluation of surface characteristics of CB and GCB using temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) method. The evaluation of functional groups and edges on carbon black surfaces is crucial for material design, and surface functional groups containing oxygen are particularly important as they significantly influence catalytic performance and electrochemical properties. Therefore, by using the temperature-programmed desorption method to heat GCB and NGCB under an inert gas flow, we can quantify the surface oxygen-containing functional groups by measuring the desorbed H2O, H2, CO, and CO2. For the measurements, BELCAT II was used, and approximately 1g of each carbon black was subjected to temperature-programmed desorption under He gas flow from 50°C to 1000°C, with desorbed gas spectra evaluated using TCD or quadrupole mass spectrometry. [Contents] ■ Evaluation of temperature-programmed desorption spectra of GCB (TCD/Q-mass) ■ Evaluation of temperature-programmed desorption spectra of NGCB (TCD/Q-mass) ■ Number of each molecule obtained from the temperature-programmed desorption spectra of GCB and NGCB (per unit area) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
