By accurately measuring the N2 adsorption isotherm and the H2O adsorption isotherm, it is possible to characterize TOCN.
This document introduces the characterization of cellulose nanofibers using N2 and H2O adsorption isotherms. Cellulose nanofibers are nanofibers that are one-fifth the weight of steel and possess 7 to 8 times the strength. In particular, TEMPO cellulose nanofibers attract significant attention due to their reduced entanglement compared to mechanically fibrillated fibers; however, the establishment of various characterizations is not yet sufficient. Therefore, we added 10 mmol of NaClO and TBA by weight percent to a TOCN aqueous solution and used the freeze-dried samples to perform characterization of TOCN using N2 and H2O adsorption isotherms.
