【Examples of Utilizing Aluminum Castings】Comparison and Reduction of Machining Costs and Core Product Costs
"I want to flatten it and make a hole!" Introduction of a case that adopted a core that can reduce unit costs.
We would like to introduce a comparison of machining costs and core product costs, along with an example of cost reduction. Customers considering the production of moderately sized cast components require a flat surface on the component side for installation onto the structural surface. Due to the high costs associated with machining at this size, they sought advice on finding a better method to reduce unit costs. In response, we established a core for creating flat surfaces tailored to the size of the cast components and conducted a comparative analysis of machining costs. We designed a cylindrical projection for φ holes in the core. As a result, a core that could reduce costs compared to machining and hole processing was adopted. [Challenges] ■ Considering the production of moderately sized cast components, but a flat surface is needed on the component side for installation onto the structural surface. ■ Due to high costs associated with machining at this size, they are looking for a better method to reduce unit costs. ■ The installation method involves bolt fastening, so they would also like to reduce the costs of φ hole processing if possible. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
