Reduction of packaging material CO2 emissions by 37% and transportation CO2 emissions by 30%! Introduction of examples that have had an impact on four items within the SDGs.
Conventional packaging uses wood, which requires fumigation treatment for quarantine during export, and also necessitates disposal as waste. By switching from wooden pallets to all-cardboard packaging using reinforced cardboard "Naviace," we maintain strength while reducing CO2 emissions from packaging materials. The frame allows for stacking, improving transportation and storage efficiency, which further reduces CO2 emissions. Additionally, we have achieved a reduction in packaging materials and simplified operations, resulting in positive effects on four of the SDGs. 【Before Improvement, We Faced These Issues】 ■ The use of wood necessitated fumigation treatment, and at the destination, it required disposal as industrial waste. ■ Due to the simple packaging, stacking was not possible, and only flat stacking could be done for storage and transportation. ■ Parts were packaged separately and sent together, posing a risk of damage or loss of the separate packaging boxes during overseas transport. *For the effects and benefits after improvement, please refer to the PDF available for download.
