As sudden and localized disasters described as "the largest in recorded history" and "once in 50 years" occur, monitoring of reservoirs and rivers is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, by installing measuring devices (monitoring posts) in more rivers, we have combined the latest technologies such as ICT and IoT with existing elemental and general-purpose technologies to accurately grasp flood situations and quickly and accurately understand the anticipated impacts, thereby achieving a solution that reduces not only the introduction costs but also the TCO (total cost of ownership). The measurement data collected from the devices is uploaded to the cloud via LoRaWAN, and when thresholds are exceeded, notifications are sent to registered email addresses. Additionally, it is possible to monitor in real-time through a web browser and download measurement values, allowing for the confirmation of multiple sensor readings from a distance. This not only reduces the time staff need to physically visit locations at risk of flooding during heavy rain or earthquakes but also eliminates the risk of staff being affected while on patrol.
