■Power and Safety of Hypochlorous Acid Hypochlorous acid is a disinfecting agent introduced in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's virus suppression manual as a virus countermeasure in nursing homes and daycare centers. It is a familiar component that plays an active role in various fields such as pool disinfection, baby bottle disinfection, purification of tap water, and washing of food ingredients. It quickly penetrates not only the surface of bacteria and viruses but also their interiors, resulting in a rapid breakdown of organic matter and excellent disinfection and virus suppression capabilities. Additionally, after reacting with organic matter, it returns to water, allowing for safe use.
