The manufacturer of the ripboard, Oohashi Co., Ltd., has been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry / Small and Medium Enterprise Agency's "Strategic Base Technology Advancement Support Project (Sapon Project)" and, in collaboration with Yamagata University and partner companies, has developed a technology to physically and chemically cut the cross-linking points of "cross-linked polyethylene," bringing it closer to its original polyethylene state (plasticization).
