Introducing a way to understand the flight style (unofficial) of each category specified architecture in SO13849-1!
Among the four items that determine the Performance Level (PL) of ISO 13849-1, there is the category (Categories). It is divided into five levels: B, 1, 2, 3, and 4, according to the specified architecture, with the required safety functions becoming stricter at each level. This is a simplified (informal) method to understand the safety levels of the specified architecture. In this document, we will convey a simple way to understand the surface aspects of this safety category using airplanes.
