For example, even if there is a top-spec microscope, poor pre-treatment due to contamination, loss, or uneven polishing will result in low analytical accuracy. Conversely, even a lower-spec microscope can yield high-precision analysis results if the polishing is done well. Pre-treatment equipment is often postponed in capital investment, but the results of the pre-treatment process become more critical as higher analytical accuracy is sought.
