Electro-optic effect electric field probe for EMF measurement in harsh environments!
eoProbe & eoSense
Light probes and photoelectric sensors available for use in water and oil.
The eoProbe is a photoelectric field sensor that measures one axis based on electro-optical technology (the Pockels effect). This ultra-broadband sensor enables accurate measurements in almost any location and environment (air, liquid, gas, vacuum) under harsh conditions. The Kapteos system has achieved innovative electric field measurements through the electro-optical probe eoProbe and the high-end converter eoSense, utilizing this Pockels effect. Its measurement performance exceeds several MV/m, providing ultra-high bandwidth from 40 Hz to over 100 GHz and the most advanced features in extremely harsh environments such as underwater. <Comprehensive Measurement of Electric Field Vectors> The Pockels effect based on electro-optical technology allows for the measurement of the three components and phase of the vector electric field. Additionally, by using two types of probes, longitudinal and transverse, in conjunction with the eoSensor converter, it is possible to accurately identify and measure the three-axis vector. <Non-Invasive Measurement> The active components of the sensor, which do not use metal parts, are essentially crystals. The measurement signals are transmitted by a laser within a fiber optic link. Electric field measurements inside animal tissues in MRI systems, as well as inside fruits or vegetables, are also possible.

Applications/Examples of results
**Evaluation of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)** The evaluation of specific absorption rate allows for the measurement of electric field exposure to the human body. These measurements must be conducted based on standards and within a phantom (new European directive). **Medium and High Voltage (HV) Electrical Components** By measuring the electric fields of medium and high voltage systems and components, defects such as partial discharge, aging of components, and even electric field exposure to humans can be analyzed. **Antenna** Electric field measurements within antennas require close-range measurements over a very wide frequency bandwidth. **Plasma** This pertains to the measurement of very strong electric fields (kV/m to MV/m) for ionizing gases containing charged particles. **MRI** Defines human exposure to electromagnetic fields. Radio frequency field analysis requires very high spatial resolution. Measurements must be conducted under magnetic fields of 3 or 4.7 Tesla, depending on the MRI model. **EMC** Covers a variety of applications including variable speed drives, inverters for solar or wind turbines, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), welding, railways, mining, marine, and aviation.

Electro-Optical Probe eoProbe <Description> The active component of the sensor, which does not use metal parts (metal-free), is fundamentally a crystal. The measurement signal is transmitted by a laser within a fiber optic link, providing the following advantages: ■ The measured electric field does not affect the measurement, unlike conventional antenna-based probes. ■ The probe and converter can be up to 100 meters apart. - Especially ultra-low loss at GHz frequencies. - Ensures accurate measurements unaffected by radiated electromagnetic fields. It is also possible to measure the electric field inside animal tissues, fruits, or vegetables within an MRI system.

Optoelectronic Converter eoSense <Description> The optoelectronic converter eoSense is used via an Ethernet port with the eoProbe sensor and dedicated Kapteos software or proprietary software. The eoSense can directly connect and operate with up to three eoProbes. It converts optical signals transmitted from the eoProbe into electrical signals that can be analyzed using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other signal processing equipment. It includes real-time processing for antenna factor (AF) measurements of absolute electric fields (magnitude, phase). Each eoSense comes with a periodic test report valid for two years. For frequencies above 40GHz, it is available on a request basis.
