The AUTOLAB spectroelectrochemical measurement setup consists of a light source, optical fiber, spectroelectrochemical cell, spectrometer, and potentiostat/galvanostat. The Autolab D/HAL light source is a compact deuterium/halogen light source that provides good light output over a wide range of 200 to 2500 nm. The light source shutter can be controlled via software. Autolab offers two models of compact spectrophotometers (USB-driven). (1) The spectrophotometer kit UV/VIS/NIR covers the ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared range from 200 to 1100 nm with a resolution of 2.5 nm. (2) The spectrophotometer kit UV/VIS covers the ultraviolet and visible range from 200 to 850 nm with a resolution of 1.15 nm. The control software is NOVA. It can be used as a spectrophotometer even without a connected Autolab potentiostat/galvanostat. Spectral data acquisition can be synchronized with electrochemical measurements. Both electrochemical data and spectrochemical data are accurately collected. Sorting coatings to avoid stray light and secondary effects. Deep UV coating to reduce secondary effects due to UV response.

The fuel cell evaluation system is suitable for measurements of Cole-Cole plots, current interruption method, and IV plots. The configuration of the fuel cell evaluation system includes: 1. PGSTAT302N potentiostat/galvanostat (±2A); 2. FRA32M impedance module; 3. 10A booster; 4. NOVA electrochemical measurement and analysis software; 5. Control PC. By connecting the AUTOLAB 10A or 20A booster to the AUTOLAB potentiostat/galvanostat, currents of ±10A or ±20A can be supplied. The booster is not an electronic load device, but has the same structure as the potentiostat/galvanostat, so there are no limitations on the ± direction of the measurement current. For measurements above 20A, AUTOLAB can easily be combined with commercially available electronic loads to enable impedance and I-V characteristic measurements above 100A. Instead of the AUTOLAB booster, impedance measurements of DC currents above 20A can be performed in combination with electronic load devices. We have tested electronic loads in Japan: Kikusui PLZ164WA (33A), Kikusui PLZ664WA (132A), Takasago FK-200L2 (40A), Takasago FK-400L2 (80A).
