We would like to introduce an interview article with Mr. Manabu Umeda and Mr. Shinichi Sagara from LIXIL Corporation!
I would like to introduce information that highlights how CAE and CFD are beneficial to society, including interesting application examples, primarily through articles from the information magazine "ADVANTAGE" published by ANSYS, Inc. and ANSYS Japan Co., Ltd. This time, we will present an interview article with Mr. Manabu Umeda and Mr. Shinichi Sagara from LIXIL Corporation, who are utilizing flow analysis of toilet products in the design and development of new products. There are various fluid analysis tools available, but the reason for choosing ANSYS Fluent is its ability to simulate products like toilets and bathtubs, which are composed of curved surfaces. One of the advantages of introducing simulation is "visualization." Since ceramic toilets can only be visually inspected up to the point where water accumulates, it is not possible to understand the flow path connected to the drainage side. With simulation, it is possible to confirm the internal flow on the drainage side, allowing for appropriate measures to be taken based on simulation results, rather than relying solely on the intuition and experience of designers. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.*
