There are two types of internal diameter measuring probes: the PA/PB/PC type, which blows air directly onto the workpiece, and the PKA/PKB type, which makes contact with the workpiece for measurement. ■ About Internal Diameter Measuring Probes PA Type: The nozzle is located 8 to 20 mm from the tip of the probe and is mainly used for measuring through holes. PB Type: The nozzle is located 3 to 4 mm from the tip of the probe and is primarily used for measuring short holes in blind holes. It can measure deeper than the PA type. PC Type: The nozzle is located 2 mm from the tip of the probe and is mainly used for measuring short sections of blind holes. It can measure even deeper than the PB type. PKA/PKB Type: These are indirect measuring probes that use carbide at the measuring point for contact measurement, primarily used when the surface roughness is 6S or higher, or when the width of the measuring surface is 4 mm or less. The PKA type has the point in the middle of the probe, while the PKB type has the point at the tip of the measuring head. ■ About Master Ring Gauges These gauges are used as measurement standards for internal diameters.
