Advantages of cylindrical screens *A comparison table of cylindrical and disc shapes is included as a gift.
A large filtration area can be secured with low pressure loss, and there are approximately 1,000 sets of results in a "cylindrical" shape!
Currently, the screens used in extruders are mostly disc-shaped. The same applies to screen changers (hereinafter referred to as S/C). However, in a familiar example, the screens used in household sink drains were once disc-shaped, but now they are all cylindrical. At GP-C Tsuchiya, we have adopted this "cylindrical" shape, which allows for a larger filtration area and less pressure loss, with approximately 1,000 sets in operation. Why do the screens in extruders on-site remain disc-shaped? What are the advantages of cylindrical screens? We have included a comparison table between cylindrical and disc-shaped screens, so for more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

I have been involved in design and research and development at a major extrusion machine manufacturer for about 35 years. When I retired, continuous and backwash screen changers were just beginning to gain attention, but at that time, they were all imported from abroad, which made them expensive and difficult to obtain. In an effort to address this issue, I worked on the development of a new screen changer using domestic technology, and in 1996, I developed Japan's first continuous backwash type (rod rotary) screen changer and took the step to commercialize it in 1997. Since then, with the support of many customers, I have continued as a specialized manufacturer of "screen changers" to this day.
