Numerous clean room achievements, reduction gear with load-holding function, winches, jacks.
Self-locking winches, rack jacks, and reducers are widely used in clean rooms. The key factors are lightweight, smart, and compact!
We have developed numerous application products equipped with a unique load-holding function (Shoji-lock) that have been well received by our customers. <Shoji-lock Product Features> - When rotation is applied from the input side, the output side decelerates and transmits power, but rotation from the output side is not possible, providing a self-locking function. This means that it can hold a load at the desired position without the need for brakes. - Compared to worm gear reducers with the same self-locking function, it is highly efficient. Additionally, while worms have input and output axes that are orthogonal, our input and output shafts are aligned in a straight line (in-line), making it considerably more compact and space-saving, as well as lightweight. - Unlike ratchets or one-way clutches, it can hold a load at any position when motion is stopped, regardless of the direction of rotation. Furthermore, there is no ratchet noise, making it suitable for use in quiet environments. - It features a basic sealed structure (IP65) and is maintenance-free. - We offer a variety of application products, including gear reducers that utilize this self-locking mechanism, winches, and linear actuators (rack jacks). - Stainless steel versions are also available for each model, suitable for cleanroom applications. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Achievements / Semiconductor-related, vacuum equipment manufacturers, food machinery, automotive factories, plant-related, various machinery manufacturers (mixing and powder), furnace-related, nuclear power generation-related, etc. The "shoji-lock" that stops movement An absolute stop that maintains load at the desired position We assist with this fundamental action of not only transmitting power but also wanting to hold the load. On land... automotive manufacturing lines, solar panel manufacturing lines, nuclear power plants At sea... ship steering control panel opening and closing, underwater survey lifting, yakatabune roof raising and lowering In the air... for maritime rescue, power line repair work, high-rise building cleaning gondolas It is adopted in various situations and for various applications. In particular, in the semiconductor field, many stainless steel and aluminum products with cleanroom specifications are used. For more details, please refer to the case studies and our website.
Detailed information
-
SLW Series SLW for 100kg: A specification combining our winch and rack jack. The rack bar rises and falls by 11.5mm per rotation, and of course, it holds the load even when the operation stops. Compact and versatile! A version for 300kg is also available.
-
SRM Series As shown in the image, it is used in tilting and reversing devices. It holds the load (self-locking) when tilted, and its very compact design has received positive feedback.

Special Product Case 1 We handle a large number of all-stainless steel products required for clean rooms in fields such as semiconductors, medical devices, and food machinery, as well as in the marine sector. The photo shows an electric tool winch mounted inside a seabed survey buoy. The input shaft is hexagonal, allowing it to be driven with commercially available sockets. By attaching a dedicated manual speed increaser on the opposite side of the input shaft, it becomes a hybrid type that can be wound up quickly by hand.
-
Case Study 2 of Special Products Even with inexpensive induction motors, there are many cases where they can self-lock without the need for brakes, or are used in combination with motors that have brakes for double safety. The photo shows an aluminum construction (A7075, black anodized treatment) for weight reduction and rust prevention.
-
Special Product Case 3 Achievements of a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. An all-aluminum (A7075) design is also possible, where a belt is used to lift the load instead of a wire, as shown in the photo.
-
Special Product Case 4 Medical-related achievements. This type uses fine strings to lift loads instead of wires. The photo shows a steel product treated with electroless nickel, which can be finished more cheaply than all stainless steel or aluminum.
-
Special Product Case 5 Our lineup includes the SRM-005-11, a compact inline reducer made entirely of stainless steel. The input and output shafts are neither orthogonal nor offset; they are aligned in a straight line, yet it self-locks, making it very compact. It is particularly suitable for tilting devices and similar applications.
-
Special Product Case 6 We have added guide rods to our SLM-050-4.0 small rack jack in our lineup, creating a twin shaft to address issues such as buckling. As shown in the photo, flanges can also be attached and manufactured at both ends. Please compare it to a cigarette. It is very compact.
-
Special Product Example 7 The SLM-D type, which responds to the request to "raise and lower two rack rods simultaneously" in the SLM series. By connecting two rack jacks with a connecting pipe, it is possible to synchronize the two rack rods. Of course, it comes with a load-holding function, and a quite compact design is achievable.

The load-holding function equipped reduction mechanism (shoji-lock) has been developing applied products such as winches and rack jacks since the early 2000s. Steady sales activities have borne fruit, and it has begun to be adopted for various applications. Unlike conventional worm reduction gears with self-locking functions where the input and output shafts are orthogonal, this mechanism has them aligned in a straight line (inline), allowing for a compact design and space-saving, which has received high praise, resulting in a diverse range of practical examples. (Patents have been obtained in Japan, the United States, the EU (Germany, France, the UK), China, South Korea, and Taiwan.) Furthermore, starting in April 2023, we launched a new business for overseas parts procurement, beginning with Vietnam. Currently, a majority of our parts are also procured overseas, and we hope to leverage our achievements and network to assist companies struggling with cost reduction in parts procurement.
