Tōei Dengei, which is engaged in planning proposals and sales construction of solar power generation systems, is strengthening its collaboration with the local community during disasters as it expands its business in the Nagoya area. At the end of 2014, the company relocated its Chubu branch (in Tenjinyama-cho, Nishi-ku, Nagoya) and installed solar power generation and storage systems, equipping the building with facilities capable of supplying power for use by the community during emergencies. One of the key focuses of the company, which has been involved in the solar power generation business for many years, is "environment and disaster prevention." To this end, they have built a system using power conditioners, lithium-ion batteries, and solar panels within the branch. This system is utilized for demonstrations to customers. In the event of a major disaster, the company intends for this power to be used by the local community, and has installed power supply facilities outside the branch building. At the same time, they are collaborating with the Tenjinyama neighborhood association to promote interaction through mutual disaster prevention training. The fact that Tenjinyama has a fire station and police station within the neighborhood has contributed to its high disaster prevention awareness, as noted by Branch Manager Kamimura. Currently, the company and the local community participate in each other's disaster prevention training and engage in exchanges with schools in the area.
