■Technology With manufacturer patented technology, accurate measurements are possible even in small spaces. To provide a more robust and reliable measurement solution, sensors are constructed using technology that is completely different from mechanical and other ultrasonic wind sensing technologies. The sensor operates by generating resonant ultrasonic signals within the measurement cavity of the sensor. Air movement is detected by measuring the phase changes of the ultrasonic signals caused by wind passing through the cavity. The sensor has three transducers arranged in a triangular configuration. The net phase difference between the pairs of transmitting and receiving transducers indicates the airflow along a pair of axes. Therefore, the airflow component vectors are determined by measuring all three pairs along the edges of the triangle. These vectors are combined to provide the overall speed and direction. The sensor employs complex signal processing and data analysis to obtain a sequence of multiple measurements to calculate normal wind measurements.
