When used as interior material, the transparent reddish-brown color deepens over time, giving it a rich character. Products made from Azumino pine have obtained certification as Shinshu wood certified products. The plain, small-sized wood used is a rare grade with no knots (though there may be slight leaf knots). It has been finished in a bright brown wood grain.
