The "R-2" is an earthquake and tsunami shelter equipped with seats for two people with seat belts. It has approximately twice the capacity of the single bed-sized "R-1." To check external conditions, there are four observation windows, and there are four exit points from the inside and two rescue exit points from the outside. To prevent tipping, a 100 kg steel plate is laid on the bottom, ensuring it does not rotate even when subjected to lateral waves. Our company primarily develops and sells tsunami and disaster prevention shelters. Witnessing the devastation caused by the tsunami during the Great East Japan Earthquake, we recognized the challenges of having insufficient time to evacuate or the physical difficulty of evacuating (such as during nighttime in complete darkness due to power outages).
