Miyata Ironworks Co., Ltd. takes joy in being able to contribute to society in order to protect people's smiles. After the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we became even more convinced that protecting lives is essential to protecting smiles, and we turned our attention to "earthquake resistance." While developing foundation hardware such as W anchors and hold-downs, which are our main products, we created earthquake-resistant hardware that allows wooden houses to be constructed using only pipe hardware and bolts. In the process of perfecting earthquake resistance, we developed earthquake shelters. The dowel pipe hardware developed by Miyata Ironworks is effective for earthquake shelters, and we have completed the indoor installation type wooden frame earthquake shelter "Goken." "Goken" is designed to prevent collapse even if the house above it falls, providing enough space for two beds and the ability to withstand unexpected heavy loads and impact loads, creating a safe living space. Additionally, "Goken" is environmentally friendly, using domestic materials, and is based on the motto of "safety, security, and affordability." Moving forward, we will continue to develop earthquake shelters, creating a kit for a six-tatami mat space that can be combined to develop disaster housing and homes that can be assembled by the general public.
