Seismic reinforcement components for wooden houses achieve a maximum strength of 8.3 kN/m with an upper and lower gap specification (in the case of large wall A910 and screw pitch of 100 mm).
● Japan Architectural Disaster Prevention Association Housing Disaster Prevention Technology Evaluation Acquired DPA-Housing Technology-62 ● Seismic reinforcement of walls is possible while leaving the floor and ceiling as they are (if the ceiling space is 310 mm or less). ● Uses commercially available structural plywood (JAS standard 12mm thick Class 2 Type 1 or Special Type). ● Easy to install, requiring no special techniques or dedicated tools. ● Reduction of ancillary work leads to shortened construction periods and reduced construction costs. ● Strength equivalent to that of a brace + structural plywood shear wall specification is achieved.

basic information
<<Scope of Application>> ● Applicable to dedicated and mixed-use residential buildings that can use the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association's "Seismic Diagnosis and Reinforcement Methods for Wooden Houses" (2004 and 2012 editions), specifically for wooden frame construction, traditional construction methods, and the wooden portions of mixed structural designs. ● Applicable to buildings with a total floor area of 500 square meters or less and up to three stories. <<Application Conditions>> ● For one-sided reinforcement of walls (not applicable if both sides are used or if there are shear walls with upper and lower gaps on the back side). * However, this does not apply if the back wall's load-bearing capacity is rendered non-load-bearing. ● For reinforcement of interior walls (not applicable to exterior walls subjected to wind pressure). ● There must be a foundation directly beneath the reinforced wall on the first floor (this does not apply if a new foundation is being installed). ● There must be columns at both ends. ● The upper and lower gaps must be within the following dimensions: Upper gap: 310mm, Lower gap: 155mm. ● Column size must be 105mm or more in one dimension or 90mm or more in the other dimension. ● Must satisfy the restrictions on the continuous arrangement of walls.

Since shortly after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, our company has been working on the seismic retrofitting of existing wooden houses, and we are currently involved in numerous seismic assessments and retrofitting projects. The GD seismic reinforcement system was developed to alleviate the burden on homeowners and promote the seismic retrofitting of houses, and we manufacture and sell products such as GD Walls, GD Braces, and GD Anchors.
