[Case Study] Constructing a Constant Temperature and Humidity Space Using Precision Air Conditioning in a Short Construction Period
Using precision air conditioning units, we construct a constant temperature and humidity environment in a short period of time.
To conduct a certain research, an experimental space capable of simulating a climate environment with a temperature range of 20 to 30°C and humidity of 40 to 60% is required. After requesting several companies to consider specifications and provide estimates, it seems that the costs significantly exceeded the anticipated budget. In general, the method commonly adopted to construct a constant temperature and humidity space requires the installation of an outdoor unit. In this case, there is more than a 50-meter distance between the laboratory and the location where the outdoor unit can be installed, resulting in enormous construction costs and duration. Issues: 1. I want to establish a testing environment, but the equipment introduction is very expensive. 2. I want to lower the budget but do not want to compromise on constant temperature and humidity conditions. 3. There is limited installation space. 4. The distance to the outdoor unit installation location is over 50 meters, which inevitably increases construction costs.

basic information
In the building where the installation is planned, office-level air conditioning management was implemented; however, the external environment for creating a constant temperature and humidity space has too large a fluctuation range. Therefore, it is recommended to construct the test room using insulation panels. By creating an insulated space, the desired temperature and humidity conditions can be achieved in a short time, reducing the load on the precision air conditioning unit. For air conditioning control, a method is proposed that combines the Orion all-in-one precision air conditioning unit, which does not require an outdoor unit, for specified temperature and humidity control. Using package air conditioners, humidifiers, and chillers, the typical method of PID control often incurs high costs due to the need for piping work to the outdoor unit and the fabrication of control panels. In this case, the distance to a location where an outdoor unit could be installed became the biggest cost factor. If water supply, power, and drainage can be secured, by installing the all-in-one precision air conditioning unit on the panel wall and adopting a method that takes in return air while supplying fresh air, it can be installed very compactly, resulting in a shorter construction period and cost reduction compared to conventional methods.
