[Case Study] Next-generation ceiling lighting to replace mercury lamps, illuminating even dark work areas.
Next-generation ceiling lighting that replaces mercury lamps, brightly illuminating even dark work areas.
At a factory of a mechanical parts processing manufacturer, mercury lamps were used for lighting. Shadows were cast on the work area, and the brightness was insufficient, hindering the processing work. Issues: 1. When cutting steel materials to millimeter precision, the light from the ceiling's mercury lamps does not reach adequately, making markings hard to see. 2. The worker's own multiple shadows (multi-shadow) fall on the object, making it difficult to see the work area. 3. Due to the difficulty in seeing, workers tend to accumulate fatigue more easily. 4. The lifespan of mercury lamps is short, lasting only 1 to 2 years, and replacing them requires time and cost.

basic information
We propose "electrode-less lamps," which significantly outperform mercury lamps in terms of brightness, lifespan, and energy efficiency. *Mercury lamps have been banned from production since 2020. Points: 1. The diffused light and the reflected light from the walls reduce the intensity of multiple shadows. 2. It can produce a gentle, bright light that is close to natural light, which is easy on the eyes and reduces fatigue for workers. 3. It has high luminous efficiency, allowing for lower wattage settings, which can reduce electricity consumption and CO2 emissions. 4. There is no filament, so it does not burn out. It lasts nine times longer than mercury lamps (approximately 100,000 hours lifespan) with a manufacturer's warranty of 5 years.
