It is possible to simultaneously measure asphaltenes using the ASTM method and the IP method.

The fully automatic asphaltene tester eliminates all the complexities of traditional methods (gravimetric methods) by adopting Cosmo's unique dual-wavelength spectrophotometry. Over 200 experimental uses in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries demonstrate its high reliability. Measurement takes only 30 seconds, with simple pre-treatment that anyone can perform, excluding pre-treatment operations. It excels in repeatability and shows no individual variation. It can be applied not only to heavy oil but also to substrates and decomposition oils.
