Reproducing the world's largest amplitude of long-period seismic motion.
Kajima Corporation, a major general construction company in Japan, possesses advanced technology and know-how accumulated over the years, as well as the industry's leading research institute, and is engaged in technological development and the horizontal deployment of new technologies and methods as a leading company in the industry. Kajima has long regarded shake tables as important experimental equipment for improving seismic technology in earthquake-prone Japan, having introduced its first shake table in 1975. Although it was updated in 1991, it was anticipated that the current performance would not be sufficient to address the demands posed by expected massive earthquakes, long-period earthquakes, and further seismic reinforcement considerations for nuclear facilities due to revisions in national guidelines. Therefore, Kajima began discussions in 2008 for further updates with MTS, based on its numerous achievements with large shake tables worldwide and its past accomplishments in seismic reinforcement of important structures such as high-rise buildings and nuclear power plants.

basic information
This is a high-performance three-dimensional shaking table that combines a "main shaking table" for reproducing seismic motions and a "long-period shaking table" for simulating the responses of long-period structures such as skyscrapers, as a solution to achieve high-precision control and long-stroke control for reproducing long-period vibrations as a large-scale shaking table.

MTS Japan, Inc. is the Japanese subsidiary of the American engineering company MTS Systems Corporation, which specializes in various testing equipment. For over 40 years, we have provided engineering consulting services to users in Japan, delivering earthquake simulation systems, automotive durability testing systems, aircraft fatigue testing equipment, and various material testing devices to public institutions, universities, and private companies in our country. All of these systems play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of these systems and are indispensable when it comes to "manufacturing" products. MTS Japan, Inc. was established in June 1972 with a 50% investment from MTS Systems Corporation. In May 1975, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and in 1981, we established the Nagoya branch (now the West Japan branch) to strengthen our sales and support structure, which continues to this day. Through collaboration with MTS, we achieve design optimization, productivity improvement, and a reduction in the time to market for our customers' products.
