Zenamic is the trademark name of SEMITEC for metal oxide varistors.
Zenamic is the trademark name of SEMITEC for metal oxide varistors. Zenamic exhibits a large non-linear exponent and shows good varistor characteristics that can be approximated as a constant voltage characteristic, making it usable up to high current ranges. It is very ideal as a surge absorber. This product is a ceramic body formed from a powder made primarily of ZnO (zinc oxide) with added additives, sintered at temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400°C.

Company information
SEMITEC Corporation is a manufacturer of thermistor elements, thermistor sensors, and surge absorbers. Its features include a rich variety of thermistor elements in its lineup and the ability to provide thermistor sensors that are processed into optimal shapes for specific applications. The company has a proven track record of adoption across a wide range of fields and applications, including medical, office automation, home appliances, automotive, and industrial machinery. Additionally, SEMITEC Corporation manufactures and sells thermistors known as "FT Thermistors," which are produced using a unique thin-film technology that combines traditional ceramics manufacturing methods with semiconductor technology. This proprietary thin-film technology enables miniaturization, fast response, and high heat resistance, and these thermistors have already been adopted as standard sensors in copiers and printers, as well as in various sensors for catheters and thermometers. For global expansion, the company has manufacturing bases in Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, and India, with two locations in China. Its sales offices are located in Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and the United States, allowing for rapid product supply. *The company changed its name from Ishizuka Electronics Co., Ltd. in March 2011.
