The Proformer is a non-destructive rebar detection device developed by Swiss Prosec. It accurately investigates the rebar arrangement in concrete structures, allowing for the measurement of cover thickness and estimation of rebar diameter. The device employs a unique measurement principle called "pulse induction," where coils wrapped around the probe create a magnetic field. When ferromagnetic metals like rebar enter this magnetic field, it changes, resulting in a change in voltage. This voltage change is utilized to measure cover thickness and estimate rebar diameter.
