Inorganic EL color conversion organic fluorescent pigments with excellent light transmittance and light resistance.
The Shinroihicolor SEL-100 series is an inorganic EL color conversion organic fluorescent pigment designed to convert the blue-green and green excitation light from inorganic phosphors (such as ZnS·Cu) into white or any desired color. It does not use formaldehyde as a raw material. The three primary colors of light are red, green, and blue (R, G, B), and when these three colors are mixed, they produce white light. However, there are currently no high-brightness inorganic phosphors that emit red light, so organic fluorescent pigments (SEL-100 series, FA-000 series) are used as substitutes to enable white panels. Between 1958 and 1959, Dai Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. proposed the idea of separating and establishing its Ofuna factory as an independent entity, leading to the establishment of its first subsidiary. The company’s general affairs department considered and proposed names for the new company, first searching for English documents related to the new company’s main product, "fluorescence." Terms such as fluorescence, fluorescent paint, luminous body, and luminous paint were identified, and it was found that in German, luminous body is "Leuchte" and luminous paint is "Die Leuchtfarbe." Therefore, the founder and first president, Nobu Negishi, had his name "Nobu" combined with the German word "Leuchte" to create a new term "SIN+LEUCHTE," which was phonetically read as "Shinroih" and spelled as "SINLOIH."
