The heater element heated to a certain temperature calculates the flow rate by measuring the change in heat quantity influenced by wind speed. The M261A10 probe uses a thin film sensor element. The thin film sensor consists of a nickel resistance thermometer and a nickel resistance heater. The time constant (t95) of the M261A10 thin film sensor element is approximately 1 second at a standard air velocity of about 5 m/s.
