Reinforcement method for through holes at the ends of RC beams: Z-M Dairen construction method.
It reduces the width of the lowered ceiling, achieving a spacious indoor space.
In conventional reinforcement methods, there is a constraint that the position of the opening must be at least the depth of the beam away from the end of the beam to ensure structural performance, which necessitates a larger "dropped ceiling" (width 90cm to 130cm) and compresses the indoor space. The Z-M Dairen method has made it possible to bring the opening closer to one-third of the beam depth from the end of the material. As a result, the width of the "dropped ceiling" can be reduced by more than 50cm, providing a more spacious indoor environment and expanding the design flexibility in floor planning, among many other benefits.

basic information
**Features** ○ The Z-M Dairen construction method was developed by adding a special type of bent reinforcing bar, called a "K-type reinforcing bar," to the Dairen and Dairen S, to prevent buckling of the main reinforcement and to restrain the concrete around openings, ensuring sufficient strength and deformation performance even when openings are located at the ends of beams. ○ Numerous structural performance confirmation experiments were conducted, leading to the invention of an effective reinforcement method that provides sufficient strength and deformation performance even when the penetration is at the ends of the beam. ○ Based on the experimental results, the "Z-M Dairen Construction Method / Design Guidelines" were formulated, and a performance certification was applied for at the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association. As a result, on January 8, 2002, it became the first in Japan to obtain a public institution's architectural technical performance certification for beam ends. ● For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
