However, Higashino cypress is produced mainly from the forests of the Higashino region in Gifu Prefecture and is a nationally recognized brand of cypress. It has a pale pink wood surface that increases in luster over time and a refreshing fragrance, and has been used since ancient times as material for shrines and castles.
