PERI products are used at construction sites around the world. This time, we will introduce the "Renovation of the Leonardo da Vinci Bridge" in Sasso Marconi, Italy. The "Leonardo da Vinci Bridge," built in the 1950s, spans the Reno River and connects the Porrettana road with the A1 highway. After more than 70 years of intensive use, it was closed to traffic in 2021 due to severe damage. The goal of the renovation project was to preserve the bridge's impressive arch. The roadway was widened from 8.50m to 11.30m to accommodate future increases in traffic volume and to enhance seismic resistance. The swift execution of the project was particularly important, and all scaffolding work, including the dismantling of scaffolding, was completed in just five months. This was made possible by comprehensive pre-planning and the high flexibility of the PERI UP (modular scaffolding system). The construction is scheduled to be completed in December 2023 as planned.
