Proposal for the manufacturing method of LiB electrode slurry "CDM Process"

Regarding the particle dispersion method for slurry, we propose the solid kneading method → CDM process (patented) [related video available].

We propose a CDM process using our Filmix® as a method for manufacturing electrode slurries for lithium-ion batteries. Compared to conventional solid kneading methods, it offers the following advantages: - Short processing time - High dispersion capability - High reproducibility - Easy scale-up for mass production ■ Solid Kneading Method Process We use kneading machines such as Hibis Dispermix. The typical process involves adding all powder raw materials → gradually adding liquid raw materials → kneading until it reaches a crumbly to ball-like consistency → further adding liquid raw materials gradually for dilution → performing viscosity adjustment and degassing. <Problems with the Solid Kneading Method> - Maximum scale is around 1,000L - Takes 5 to 10 hours per batch - Low reproducibility ■ CDM Process In the CDM process, we reduce the 5 to 10 hours of the above kneading process by adding liquid and powder raw materials all at once, creating a slurry that can be pumped after about 30 minutes of pre-mixing → then using Filmix® to continuously process the entire amount in 30 minutes. <Effects of the CDM Process> 1) Processing capacity of up to 1,920L/H 2) Fewer man-hours lead to higher reproducibility 3) Reduction in the number of workers required 4) Decrease in the number of devices and installation area needed

Electrode slurry continuous manufacturing process tabletop CDM

Continuous manufacturing process and equipment for electrode slurry using Filmix® developed for dispersing electrode materials of lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells.

CDM stands for Continuous Dispersion Mixing, which is a continuous manufacturing process for electrode slurries using Filmix® developed for the dispersion applications of electrode materials in lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells. The nanoparticle design mixer (dispersion stirring device) Filmix® 56-L type is compatible with both batch and continuous processes. It can also be used by setting up a continuous line on a tabletop. ▼▼ Basic Procedure for Continuous Operation ▼▼ 1) Preliminary dispersion with a homodisperse or similar device 2) Transfer of the processing liquid with a pump 3) Dispersion with Filmix® ■ This single unit can be compactly used from research and development to small-scale production! ■ There are numerous successful scale-up cases from research machines to production machines! ◆◇━━━━━━━━━━ Testing Now Available! ━━━━━━━━━━━◇◆ If you have materials that are problematic for dispersion or homogenization, please give it a try. We are currently offering two booklets related to battery manufacturing as a gift. ◎ "Battery Device Measures Booklet" ◎ "Booklet on Fuel Cell MEA Manufacturing" * If you would like to request a test or booklets, please feel free to contact us.

●Mixer for slurry preparation *Proven track record in the battery industry, testing currently accepted!

[Video Available] Improve the quality of electrode material slurry and reduce costs! Numerous delivery records of slurry manufacturing equipment Filmix® to the battery industry. *Catalog available.

Filmix® is a mixer (dispersion stirring device) that enables the realization of sharp particle size distribution and nanoparticle size reduction, which was difficult with conventional high-speed stirrers. It has a proven track record in the battery industry. ● Uniform Mixing The performance of lithium-ion battery electrode materials cannot be achieved without uniform mixing. By using Filmix® to mix materials uniformly, it is possible to produce highly stable slurries. ● Accelerated Development Speed By using Filmix® to achieve emulsification, dispersion, and nanoparticle size reduction in seconds, development time is significantly shortened. ● Testing Now Available! If you have materials that are challenging for dispersion or homogenization, please give it a try! Additionally, we are currently offering two catalogs related to electrode material slurry production as a gift! ◎ "Continuous Production Technology CDM Process (Filmix® Catalog)" ◎ "Booklet on Fuel Cell MEA Manufacturing" *If you would like to request a test or catalogs, please feel free to contact us.
