A place of relaxation for local residents: Oyamazaki Tile Kiln Ruins Park (Kyoto Prefecture)

The December feature is "Parks for Relaxation."
When people think of parks, they often envision parks with playground equipment like slides and swings. What we are introducing this time is a park without play equipment, where you can enjoy academic resources and views while resting. The wooden facilities contribute to creating a relaxing space.
This week, we are introducing the Oyamazaki Tile Kiln Ruins Park (Kyoto Prefecture). The Oyamazaki Tile Kiln Ruins are a site where tiles necessary for the construction of Heijō-kyō were produced from the late 8th century to the early 9th century. The park has been developed to preserve this site and allow for visits, and we have supplied wooden gazebos, wooden fences, benches, log stairs, rope fences, and cedar sleepers.
