[Series] Why is Yamato Transport conducting "watching over" for the elderly?

The "watching over" of the elderly has become a significant social issue.
While there is an increasing number of voices expressing concern for elderly parents living alone in the community, the caregiving industry is facing a labor shortage, making it difficult to conduct visits for confirming the safety of the elderly due to a lack of personnel resources.
Moreover, there are various risks associated with elderly individuals living alone, leading to a growing number of elderly people who struggle to find suitable housing.
To address these challenges, Yamato Transport has launched the "Watching Over Service Anshin Hello Light Plan."
This service utilizes the HelloLight, an IoT bulb that is part of the subscription service "IoT SELECTION" provided by Tokyo Century. We spoke with Tomoyuki Kawano from Yamato Transport, who led the initiative, and Akira Torii, the CEO of HelloLight Inc., the developer of HelloLight, about this service.
