Detectable hydrogen cyanide. Announcement of the "Midas-M Gas Monitoring System" update.

Honeywell Japan, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasushi Fujii) is pleased to announce the update of its fixed multi-gas monitoring system "MidasTM-M," which now has the capability to detect hydrogen cyanide gas.
Due to the prevention of COVID-19, workers are required to wear masks and other protective gear at all times, making it increasingly difficult to rely on human senses for maintenance and accident prevention. However, Honeywell's MidasTM-M gas detector employs highly reliable sensor technology to detect major toxic gases, ambient gases, and flammable gases.
Equipped with a multi-sensor that can detect multiple gases with a single unit, it is expected to contribute to overall cost reduction, including savings on installation space and costs.
This device uses patented technology to adjust flow rates, allowing for error-free gas detection while simultaneously monitoring multiple gases from distances of up to 30 meters.
With the addition of hydrogen cyanide to the gases detected by the MidasTM-M, the range of work environments where it can be implemented has significantly expanded, aiding in the safety of workers in manufacturing facilities for synthetic fibers and resins, among others.
