Simulation of a check valve using SimericsMP+.

CFD, which allows for the shortening of product development periods, reduction of prototype costs, and acquisition of detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Check valves (non-return valves) play an important role in preventing water hammer and regulating flow direction. Research and development are being conducted daily to enhance the durability of piping. However, this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototyping and testing the valves. Even when performing CFD simulations, setting up the mesh deformation associated with the opening and closing of the flow path can be quite cumbersome.
