The compact and lightweight LED tunnel lighting fixtures from Hoshi and Denki have been selected as a useful technology under NETIS's "Promotional Utilization Technology."

Technologies registered in the New Technology Information System (NETIS) have adopted both the direct current power supply method (CG-170008) and (TH-15008).

The newly developed tunnel LED lighting system, the first of its kind in Japan, has achieved miniaturization and weight reduction of the lighting fixtures by installing the power supply unit inside the electrical room and supplying power to the fixtures in the tunnel with direct current. Conventional products had the power supply unit within the fixture itself, but this product does not have a power supply unit inside the fixture, allowing for miniaturization and significantly reducing installation work. Additionally, by consolidating the power supply unit in the electrical room, maintenance has been simplified. The direct current-powered tunnel LED lighting system makes the lighting fixtures ultra-compact and lightweight, reducing construction costs by using connector-type power wiring, and improving maintenance ease and safety by placing the power supply unit in the electrical room. The direct current-powered tunnel LED lighting incorporates technologies registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's New Technology Information System (NETIS) (CG-170008) and the technology for compact and lightweight LED tunnel lighting fixtures (TH-150008). Recently, we supplied the tunnel LED lighting system for the Kyuuzan Tunnel (downhill L=1,704m) on National Route 185, under the jurisdiction of the Hiroshima National Highway Office of the Chugoku Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

We have delivered sign lighting using tunnel lighting fixtures, the first of its kind in Japan, to the Shin-Meishin Expressway (from Takatsuki JCT/IC to Kobe JCT).

Sign lighting refers to tunnel lighting that glows white, which flashes red during a vehicle fire, and flashes yellow in the event of abnormalities such as accidents, falling objects, or broken-down vehicles, alerting drivers. This allows drivers to drive with peace of mind.
