Resolving stone material issues! Suction prevention test

AD-COAT penetrates absorbent materials, densifying the voids to prevent the absorption of water and stains.
We applied AD-White (penetrating water-repellent agent) to granite and conducted an absorption prevention test.
[Test Items]
1. Confirmation of the amount applied to the test specimen
We confirmed the amount of AD-White applied to the sample stone.
2. Test of the effectiveness of preventing absorption from the back and edges of the stone.
3. Test Results
- The amount applied to the test specimen was 100cc/m², forming a penetration layer of about 5 to 7 millimeters. Therefore, we determined that an application amount of 100cc/m² is sufficient.
- For the untreated sample, absorption occurred after 24 hours of immersion, with a wet color appearing on the surface and the presence of sodium sulfate crystals observed on the surface. The stone treated with AD-White showed no signs of absorption even after 30 days.
Based on these results, we conclude that using AD-White on the stone sample provided for this test is effective for preventing absorption.
