Presentation of a case study on the introduction of an embedded PCIe-SAN switch for SAN file sharing software in a 4K video editing environment.

TID Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Takeshi Takeuchi, hereinafter referred to as TID) announced that its PCIe-SAN switch "SWF16," which incorporates SAN file sharing software as a new product in the ExaSAN series, has been adopted by RAWESOME! Division of Eikyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as RAWESOME!) and is being used in an actual video editing environment.
Traditionally, building a SAN file sharing environment required the introduction of an MDC as a dedicated management server. The PCIe-SAN switch SWF16 reduces hardware costs by incorporating SAN file sharing software, making it easier to set up a SAN file sharing environment. Additionally, by adopting a buyout licensing model, it significantly lowers running costs.
The introduction to RAWESOME! was supported by both King Tech Co., Ltd. and Wise Corporation, who assisted in equipment selection and implementation support, and has been in use in a real environment for over six months for verification purposes. As a result, the stable operation in an environment where content such as movies and television programs are produced and edited has been confirmed, leading to this announcement.
