The "Metal Injection Molding" process is a manufacturing method that creates metal parts in the desired shape by mixing powdered metal with a binder and injecting it into a mold. It excels in producing fine thin-walled shapes with thicknesses ranging from 0.2 mm to 5 mm. It accommodates millimeter-scale orders and demonstrates properties equivalent to those of wrought materials, such as torsion and bending. With a density of over 95% and pores that take on a round, independent shape, it exhibits excellent mechanical strength. The binder debinding process is conducted at high speeds to minimize the alteration and deformation of the metal powder, allowing for sintering under various conditions, including vacuum, reducing atmosphere, inert atmosphere, and high-pressure atmosphere, tailored to each metal's requirements. With Castem's "Digital Cast," you can produce casting parts from just one piece without molds by utilizing 3D printing. The freedom of shape is also high, and you can significantly reduce lead time, costs, and labor. 【Cost Reduction Example】 The part in the thumbnail is a CG manifold that was previously made by machining two parts and then welding them together. Additionally, due to the special material Inconel 625, it was sourced from overseas processors, making it a quite costly part in the past. However, by creating it as a single molded piece, we achieved a cost reduction of up to 80% and improved strength. "Shapes that cannot be achieved by machining" and "I want to verify with the same material as the final product."
