Developed a carbon-neutral aluminum melting holding furnace [Published in the Iron and Steel News, October 23, 2023, page 5]

"Carbon Neutral Aluminum Melting Holding Furnace Developed by Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd." Published in the "Iron and Steel Newspaper, October 23, 2023, Page 5." Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hirano Ward, Osaka City, Representative: Shota Habaki), a specialized manufacturer of industrial gas burners and industrial furnaces, has developed an aluminum melting holding furnace that enables decarbonization in aluminum casting sites such as automotive parts. A new hydrogen gas burner that emits no CO2 during combustion has been adopted for the melting line. By placing high-efficiency immersion heaters in the holding line for the molten aluminum melted by hydrogen combustion, a heat source configuration that achieves carbon neutrality through "hydrogen × green electricity" has been realized. A test furnace based on actual equipment has been newly established at the Thermal Technology Research Institute. We are accepting visits to observe hydrogen combustion and tests for actual aluminum melting. Amid uncertain prospects for future energy supply, we will contribute to the decarbonization of the manufacturing industry by applying the combustion technology and hybridization technology for heat sources that we have cultivated so far.

Introduction to Decarbonization and Low-Carbon Technologies for Thermal Equipment [Electrification and Hybridization]

In the face of uncertainty regarding future energy supply, we are advancing efforts towards high-efficiency "electrification" and "hybridization" based on gas combustion furnaces.

**Electrification of Thermal Equipment** In an uncertain future for energy supply, we are responding to high-efficiency electrification based on proven thermal equipment (combustion furnaces) to offer multiple options to our customers as an industrial furnace manufacturer. The electric hot air generator (AH-E) can replace our gas combustion type without significant changes to the equipment layout, allowing for electrification. **Hybrid Heating of Electric and Combustion Types** We have numerous achievements not only in fully electrifying thermal equipment but also in hybrid heating that combines the advantages of combustion types. We address challenges such as "securing green power, reducing costs, and ensuring power capacity" through hybrid solutions with combustion types. In addition to improving the efficiency of electric systems, energy-saving systems that utilize waste heat for gas burners are also possible. By incorporating hydrogen gas burners, we achieve carbon neutrality! **We Conduct Practical Verification Tests** We conduct various heating tests at the newly established "Thermal Technology Research Institute" within the Horyuji Center. Among these, the "QCO Test Facility" allows for heating tests with four different heat sources! We propose thermal equipment suitable for workpieces using gas, electric, hydrogen, and hybrid heat sources.

Non-contact light beam touch sensor "HA-T401"

The "Energy-Saving Automatic Door Sensor HA-T401" is now available, opening only for those who want to enter without contact, whether on a busy street or in a narrow passageway!

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

In recent years, with the outbreak of infectious diseases, there has been a demand for products that cater to "contactless operation," and this trend has extended to environments where automatic doors were previously operated by touch switches. As the automation of doors and the non-contact operation of automatic doors become more widespread, do you have any of the following concerns? ☑ Although automatic doors have been installed, they remain open due to people crossing frequently in busy areas. ☑ Touch switches have been introduced to reduce unnecessary openings and closings, but hygiene is a concern. ☑ Touch switches require regular battery replacements since they are powered. The light beam touch sensor "HA-T401" opens and closes automatic doors without contact, and its compact detection range makes it suitable for narrow passages and busy areas, contributing to energy savings and infection control. 【Benefits of Implementation】 ○ Adaptable to various door types with four spot settings, ideal for busy roads and narrow passages. ○ Energy-saving effects with two setting modes that reduce unnecessary openings and closings of automatic doors. ○ Equipped with a light beam touch function, allowing doors to open and close simply by waving a hand, ensuring hygiene. ◎ For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.
