Mold polishing can now be automated. Molds with freeform surfaces. An end effector that autonomously corrects contact force at high speed and also autonomously corrects the gravitational load of the tool. With high-speed automatic correction control, the robot's trajectory speed is increased, enabling stable, high-quality automatic polishing with uniform force at all angles!

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in polishing and grinding operations, which require skilled techniques, in response to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically compensates for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent polishing/grinding with a set contact force.
This technology can increase the speed of the equipment or robot's trajectory, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle time. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the control of contact pressure is achieved through the expansion and contraction of the ACF itself, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Moreover, it automatically compensates for tool load variations due to gravity, which changes with the robot's angle, ensuring a consistent contact pressure from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
