Mold polishing can now be automated. Molds with free-form surfaces. An end effector that autonomously corrects contact force at high speed and also autonomously corrects the gravitational load of the tool. With high-speed automatic correction control, the robot's trajectory speed is increased, enabling stable, high-quality automatic polishing with uniform force regardless of the angle!

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in polishing and grinding operations, which require skilled techniques, in response to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically compensates for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent polishing/grinding operations with a set contact force.
This technology can increase the speed at which devices and robots move along their trajectories, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ability to control the contact pressure through the expansion and contraction of the ACF itself means that there is no need to move the heavy robotic arm for corrections, further assisting in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, since it automatically compensates for tool loads caused by gravity, which change with the angle of the robot, it maintains a uniform contact pressure from any angle, enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
