[Explanatory Material] Reconfirming "Chain Regulations" During Heavy Snow (2022 Edition)

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the National Police Agency have designated a total of 13 sections, including 7 expressway segments and 6 national road segments, where the use of tire chains has been mandatory since the winter of 2018, due to past occurrences of large-scale traffic standstills.
During heavy snowfall, vehicles are not allowed to proceed in the designated restricted areas without tire chains, even if they are equipped with winter tires.
