The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has made the following revisions regarding the "safety belt" used in high-altitude work in the construction industry and other fields. ■ The "safety belt" has been changed to "fall arrest equipment." * The U-shaped suspension body belt, which was included in the conventional safety belt for work positioning, is not included in "fall arrest equipment." ■ The principle is to use "full harness type" for "fall arrest equipment." * If a wearer of the full harness type is at risk of reaching the ground during a fall (at a height of 6.75m or less), the "body belt type (single suspension)" can be used. ■ Those using the full harness type are required to undergo "special safety and health education." * For work conducted at heights of 2m or more where it is difficult to establish a working platform, special education must be received when using the full harness type. The use of the pre-revision full harness type and body belt type has been prohibited since January 2, 2022. For more details, please refer to the catalog.
